Buying a property in the UK in the summer may not be such a bad idea after all.There are three main peaks in the year when most property purchases get started.
The spring sees many potential buyers crawl out of their caves to search for more suitable abodes.
Also, early autumn and just after Christmas see a rush as people return from holidays and ‘get back to business’.
Choose a time when all of the professionals involved are hungry for work.
Estate agents. Some of them will take their holidays at this time, but the offices remain open with employees searching through databases looking for people to send out contact details to. It's a perfect time to be put on active client lists and get them to work for you.
Mortgage advisors and mortgage lenders also encounter little or no new business, particularly in the month of August. Call around and get your finances in order.
Work also tends to slow down for conveyancing solicitors as well. You may actually have more negotiating power during this time, as they are looking to fill the gap until autumn.
Mske sure the solicitor you choose is not about to take holidays. If they do, your file will
be passed to a colleague who will already have their own cases to deal with. You do not want ot be placed in the ‘later’ file.
Get quotes from a couple of different firms so that you have a backup when the time comes.
